Our Hockey Academy (HA) goal is to provide additional opportunities for our elite players to continue excelling in their hockey while attending TPI. Students are selected into the HA based on the merit of their application in terms of their history of representation, their skill level and their overall attitude on and off the astro.
This year TPI has employed an external ‘Skills Development Coach’ to run our weekly ‘skill development’ sessions.
Students selected in the HA will be excused from curriculum time to attend two weekly skill-based sessions. The school has kindly once again received some funding from Trevelyan’s and Cavanagh Truck Spares, two local businesses that sponsor us so we can continue to fund this exciting initiative. This means there is no additional charge for parents for these skill-based sessions.
At TPI we have four school values; be active, be excellent, be respectful and be yourself. While we expect our HA students to consistently demonstrate all four of our values, our HA programme is based on everyone involved with it demonstrating excellence at all times. On the astro during their skill-based sessions, in class, and at home. We expect our HA students to be fantastic role models for TPI.
