Waitaha and Tapuika are two of the 7 local Iwi from the Te Arawa Waka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the Te Arawa Waka we are descendants of Tapuika, Tuhourangi, Waitaha, Ngati&nbsp; Rangiwewehi, Ngati Whakaue, Ngati Makino and Ngati Whakahemo.&nbsp; Our students and staff affiliate to 7 Iwi and 12 Marae here across the Bay of Plenty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school represents \u2018Ngapu Manawa e Waru o Te Arawa\u2019- The 8 beating hearts of Te Arawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OUR MISSION<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Te Puke Intermediate is a specialist middle school which strives to foster and encourage our students through middle schooling, recognising the aspirations and beliefs of our bi-cultural heritage and multi-cultural community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OUR VISION<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> Is to create confident, connected, active, life long learners&nbsp;through a varied, focused and exciting curriculum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OUR CORE VALUES <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Be Active \u2013 Toi Hakinakina<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be Excellent \u2013 He Tino Pai Rawa Atu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be Respectful &#8211; Manaakitanga<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be Yourself \u2013 Whakawh\u0101naungatanga<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OUR STORY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Te Puke Intermediate School serves a mixture of urban and rural families.&nbsp; The school is a U5, decile 3 school with our contributing schools ranging from decile 1 \u2013 3 which include Maketu Primary, Paengaroa Primary, Fairhaven School and Te Puke Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Te Puke Intermediate is a member of the Te Puke Kahui Ako which includes all 11 Te Puke schools: they are Te Puke Intermediate, Te Puke High School, Fairhaven, Te Puke Primary, Paengaroa, Pongakawa, Pukehina, Otamarakau, Te Ranga, Te Kura a Iwi &#8211; Tapuika and Rangiuru School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OUR STRUCTURE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our school has eight Learning Centres that deliver the New Zealand Curriculum or Te Marautanga o A\u014dtearoa through eight different learning contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students have \u2018agency\u2019 over which Centre is the right one for them.
